Barcelona put in a stirring performance as they brushed aside Racing Santander in La Liga to claim another three points.
It didn't take long for the home side to break the deadlock. On the 7th minute, Thierry Henry knocked the ball down with his head. The loose ball fell to Andres Iniesta who poked the ball into the net past the oncoming goalkeeper.
The second came from Henry himself on the 29th minute and was his first goal since late last year. Henry was designated to take the free kick from around 25 yards out. He struck the ball through the wall in what can only be considered lax defending. It was a clever strike from Henry who left the keeper standing.
The third goal came once again from a free kick just five minutes later. It was the Mexican Rafael Marquez who scored a tremendous goal which came off the post and went in.
Barcelona were less dominant in the second half but still managed another goal. Substitute Thiago found the net courtesy of a Lionel Messi assist. Messi pulled the ball back at the byline which Thiago slotted in via a deflection on the 84th minute. The scoreline ended 4-0 and was a perfect prelude to Barcelona's midweek Champions League clash.
