Lionel Messi and Gerard Pique spoke to AS after last night's game against Sevilla, voicing their disappointment at being knocked out of the Copa del Rey on the away goals rule.
Barcelona won by a goal to nil on the night, but needed to score at least two goals in order to progress, after losing 2-1 in the first leg. They will not have long to wait in order to exact revenge on Sevilla, as they go head-to-head this weekend in La Liga at the Nou Camp.
Messi stated, "The truth is that it hurts go out of it this way. In the second half we did enough to go through. We are hurt, because we did not expect to go out, but we must move on. We congratulate Sevilla because they made it happen and wish them good luck from now on in this competition."
Teammate Pique also added, "We're fine, but it hurts to lose. I congratulate Sevilla, they did a great job. When you lose you are always concerned, especially if you're not used to losing. We're in good shape, but cannot always win everything. People have to feel proud of the team. At Barca we are always obliged to win."
