Lionel Messi was back on the pitch last night as he teamed up with a selection of friends including Martin Palermo and Lucio in a friendly last night in Panama.

Messi was predictably on the scoresheet, scoring a simple hat-trick as his side won by six goals to four.

The rest of the world team was represented by players including Jose Antonio Reyes and Edgar Davids in front of a delirious crowd in Panama.

Messi's goals were precise and well-executed as usual and he looked comfortable in front of goal in what could only be described as an exhibition game.

Messi was sporting a new look with short hair, which will surprise many of his fans.
